The University of Iowa desired a new learning commons. The completed facility now features eight pairs of small group rooms that line the main circulation path and act as lanterns to provide wayfinding through the commons. Pairs are grouped into red, orange, green, and blue clusters to further enhance wayfinding. The group rooms, and space between them, create a natural buffer zone between the more active and quieter areas of the commons.
