Expanding capabilities for patient-centered care
The vision was to create a more comprehensive and accessible healthcare facility that enhances emergency response, expands critical care capacity and provides dedicated spaces for specialized services.
Despite needing to keep the hospital fully operational, CMBA Architects completed a phased mini-master plan for Burgess Health Center. Their vision included a new emergency department, extensive capacity expansions, new behavioral health protocols and direct access to operating rooms. Additionally, we designed a specialty clinic addition that creates more space for essential providers, a new helipad, a 2-stall ambulance garage and a new decontamination shower. These upgrades are now significantly enhancing healthcare quality for their community, ensuring better emergency availability and access to specialists locally.
