Creating versatile learning spaces
The new academic building at Morningside University provides state-of-the-art, flexible learning environments that accommodate a variety of teaching and learning styles.
Faced with a growing demand for nursing and teaching education, we were hired to help design a new “academic village” that would house nursing, education, science and student advising programs.
The new four-level brick academic building provides state-of-the-art learning environments for all disciplines! Flexible seating, multiple projection and a variety of wall surfaces make a wide range of teaching and learning modes possible. The active learning environments extend into the public spaces to provide for group and individual study areas. Perhaps the most striking design feature though is the second level glass bridge which connects a flexible learning hall with 120 seats!
