Floyd Valley Healthcare pursued an OB expansion after identifying a significant loss of local births to nearby communities and a growing demand for outpatient services. We studied multiple planning options to solve space needs and discovered that relocating the OB department into an underutilized area of the existing building allowed the design to shift to labor and delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms so patients stay in one room after birth.

The new LDRP rooms are larger and organized into zones for caregivers and patients with thoughtful details that support comfort and privacy. Aging infrastructure and legacy equipment were replaced with modern systems while the aesthetic was updated to match the high standard of care provided by staff.

The result is a welcoming department that strengthens obstetrics services and encourages more local families to choose Floyd Valley Healthcare.
