Kylee Hulet is the only Interior Designer at CMBA Architects who lives with a phenomenon known as Aphantasia, in which she is unable to visualize imagery. “Close your eyes and picture a red apple… can you see it? When I do that, all I see is black.” But this hasn’t hindered her creativity in the least! Her process just involves a bit more sketching…
For Kylee, interior design is a way to express her artistic mindset to create purpose and serve others. In her own words, “I love that this career requires a great amount of empathy and sensitivity. As a bonus, space planning makes me jittery with excitement, and I often lose track of hours creating something for someone to inhabit!”
Kylee is optimistic and driven. Her meeting snack(s) of choice are “Goldfish or dry Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal”; her favorite book is Harry Potter; favorite color is green; favorite movie is Good Will Hunting; and her favorite food is Acai!
