Creating Flexible Learning Spaces for a Modern Curriculum
The goal was to transform outdated instructional spaces into flexible classrooms that support small-group learning and technology integration while elevating the auditorium experience for students and the broader community.
As part of a district-wide facilities review, the renovation of Harlan High School focused on updating learning environments to support 21st-century instruction. We replaced aging wall systems and reconfigured classrooms to create modern, flexible spaces designed for collaboration and small-group learning with improved technology capacity.
The project also included a full renovation of the school auditorium, with new ergonomic seating, refreshed finishes, improved lighting, and advanced stage systems that transformed the venue into a state-of-the-art performance space for students and the community. Phased construction allowed students to shift spaces as work progressed, minimizing disruption and maintaining continuity throughout the academic year.
