Expanding space for safety and training
The vision was to create a safer, more functional space that supports firefighter training, equipment maintenance and community engagement.
The Orange City Fire Station was in desperate need of more space for training, education and performing proper maintenance on trucks and equipment. Specifically, they wanted a new 40-person gear room, separated from the apparatus bay, to provide firefighters a safe changing space and gear storage. A dedicated workshop and space for SCBA equipment also promote safety and allow more space to perform maintenance on gear and equipment. The addition also includes a kitchen, accessible from both sides, to serve large community initiatives in the apparatus bay or smaller events in the training room.
