Empowering Alton’s first responders
The vision was to create a modern, safe and efficient facility that enhances training, improves equipment storage and supports the department’s capabilities across its service area.
Established in 1894, the Alton Fire Department covers a 44-square-mile area across four townships. The old facility desperately needed technological upgrades and additional space for training, trucks, equipment and storage. Addressing poor ventilation and the risk of injury when donning gear were also critical. Our team collaborated with the Alton Fire Department to meet safety standards, improve response coverage, upgrade the fleet and apparatus, and expand spaces for equipment storage, maintenance and training with four new apparatus bay spaces, a mezzanine for multi-story training, a kitchen for department events and more.
