As an Architect at CMBA, you will be immersed in a fun, collaborative culture with an amazing team of creative professionals. You will have the opportunity to plan, design and/or facilitate the execution of building designs according to the clients’ needs, desires and financial resources. What You’ll Do
- Identify, through consultation, client requirements, approximate budget, timetable and possible needs for future expansion
- Determine client preferences regarding materials, styles, colors and other variables
- Attempt to identify through collaboration, client priorities in terms of needs vs. desires
- Assist client in defining their priorities and vision by preparing preliminary sketches of options
- Prepare and present designs, specifications, estimated costs, and proposed construction schedule
- Create detailed plans integrating engineering, electrical, and HVAC considerations; presents plans to clients for review and approval
- Modify new or existing plans as required
- Collaborate with clients to select and award construction contracts
- Collaborate with general contractor and clients to facilitate the building process to meet client specifications
- Other duties as assigned
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture required
- Active State licensure required
- 5 years of relevant experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong imagination and the ability to think and create in three dimensions
- Ability to translate client ideas into visual and/or tangible references such as drawings or models
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant code, regulations and quality standards
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation and consultation skills
- Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Revit, BIM and other architectural programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Familiarity with design programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion and Nscapes
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
