Evidence-based design was incorporated into this project when the owner toured existing facilities to gather data on successful layouts and features. Specific spaces and features included a parent/child interaction therapy room with separate viewing, child-friendly surfaces and furniture, and soothing colors with plenty of natural light. The completed facility now provides the safe, therapeutic atmosphere necessary for vulnerable youth.
