CMBA Projects Featured in American School & University magazine

Cannon Moss Brygger Architects (CMBA) announces that Wellness Center at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa; and the Career Pathways Institute in Grand Island, Nebraska have both been selected for publication in Penton’s American School & University┬« 2014 Educational Interiors Showcase. The projects are featured in the August 2014 edition of the magazine. The Educational Interiors Showcase, an annual competition honoring educational interior design excellence, spotlights projects representing some of the most effective learning environments in America.

Northwestern’s Wellness Center was honored in the Physical Education Facilities/Recreation Centers category. This project was the final phase of Northwestern College’s vision to renovate their Student Center.

Grand Island Public Schools’ Career Pathways Institute (CPI) was honored in the Vocational/Industrial Arts Areas category. CPI was the first facility of its kind in the state of Nebraska. This project (a collaboration of the School District, Community College, Local Businesses and Community members) has recently received regional and national recognition.

A jury of American Institute of Architects (AIA) members and education administrators evaluated submissions from architectural firms, schools and universities across the country. Eighty-six projects in seventeen categories were chosen for publication in AS&U, a monthly educational facilities, purchasing and business administration magazine reaching 57,000 readers. This is the 24th year the competition has been held.

Each project was considered based on the following criteria: design that incorporates 21st century learning strategies; longevity/timeless design; security/safety; comfort/inviting design; community connectivity; a healthy environment; innovation and a design that is conducive to learning.
